Charbonnel et Walker, purveyors of fine English chocolates, are
delighted to announce the launch of thieir new Top Hat Box with Milk
Marc de Champagne Truffles.
The delectable world-renowned Milk Marc de Champagne truffle is a delicious, handmade creation of a milk chocolate and Marc de Champagne truffle centre, enrobed in the finest milk chocolate and delicately finished with a dusting of icing sugar. The truffles are carefully hand-placed into paper cups and presented on two tiers in a fabulous round black top hat box, beautifully finished with a white band and gold detailing.
This is a fun addition to Charbonnel et Walker’s truffle range, and would make a wonderful gift to all dapper gentleman of style. The black top hat gift box is sure to be treasured after the chocolates have gone!
Like all Charbonnel chocolates and truffles, the Milk Marc de Champagne Truffle is handmade in England to an original recipe, using the finest ingredients.
Top Hat Box will retail at £8 for 65g, and is available from the Victoria Quarter store from mid February 2013.

Cocktail Masterclasses at the Fourth Floor
If you have ever fancied yourself as a bit of a shaker like Tom
Cruise or more of a connoisseur like James Bond, then we have the
perfect event for you.
Here is the chance to learn the art of mixology with a one hour
session with one of Harvey Nichols experts. Their Master Classes give you the chance
to discover the basic principles of creating cocktails and how to
balance flavours. You will be shown how to make four classic cocktails
as well as getting the chance to taste them. It will then be over to
you, for a hands-on session where you can create your own cocktail.
The Master Class costs £25 per person and includes a one hour session
on cocktail making. Alternatively you can treat yourself to their truly
indulgent package, which includes a delicious three course lunch or
dinner in the Fourth Floor Café and the Master Class cocktail for £50
per person.

Since opening in VQ in
2009, Opposite Cafe has continued to make a name for itself for healthy,
homemade food and coffee. With a record of success at the Northern Barista Championships,
including a third place last year for manager Howard Barwick, Opposite are now
regarded as one of the top coffee bars in the country.

to being named in The Guardian’s list of top 10 Coffee Bars, Opposite have
recently been featured in The Independent’s list of the Top 50 Coffee Shops in
the UK.
According to Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood, the UK Barista champion and owner of
Colonna & Smalls, “This tiny unit in the Victoria Quarter was set up to
explore speciality coffee, with the food and usual cafe offerings stripped
right back so that it’s an exciting coffee experience.”

speciality coffees, including their own blends, makes it a Mecca for coffee
devotees and ensures its reputation is well deserved.

Lou sources beans
from world renowned micro-roasters such as Square Mile Coffee and Has Bean, and
the cafe also offers seasonal espressos - different blends of espresso beans
from around the world depending on what greens are in season – as well as single
origin coffee, really fair Fairtrade.
“We’re simply going to make the best coffee
we can,” says Lou, “so that we do justice to the people who’ve grown it, farmed
it and produced it.”
VQ Centre Director, John Bade added, “For a
small independent such as Opposite to the plaudits of two national newspapers
is a credit to Lou & her team. Opposite has developed a loyal customer base
since they opened here, which I’m sure will continue to grow over coming
years.”
