Arabella Crumbelstone
Written as a fundraiser for the National Autistic Society, “The Daily Journal of Arabella Crumblestone” is a story about flying faeries, self-discovery, autism and, most importantly, friendship.

Friendship is something that most of us take for granted, but for the autistic child it is a minefield that often seems safer avoided.

Sharon King, the author, wrote the story as she saw a gap in the children’s fiction market. In real life there are so many autistic individuals but where are they in the world of fiction? What characters can our autistic children identify with, only “Rainman” or “Christopher” from “The Curious Incident Of the Dog in the Nighttime”, it seems.

£1 from the sale of each copy of “Arabella” is to be donated to the National Autistic Society and, having three children on the autistic spectrum, Sharon has attempted to paint a sensitive and subtle picture of the autistic child.

Sharon will be in the centre on Saturday 9th April from 11.00am - 3.00pm to sign copies of her book which costs £5.
