£5,000 Donation for Local Charities

£5,000 Donation for Local Charities
Two local charities have recently benefitted from donations of £2,500 each from a Community Bursary Scheme run by VQ’s owners, Hammerson.
VQ has supported both Yorkshire Cancer Research and The Haven in recent years and were nominated by the centre’s management as recipients for this year’s awards.
Hammerson establishes community bursary schemes for its developments and projects across the country, and each year makes a number of donations to charities in the local communities in which it operates.
VQ Centre Director, John Bade commented, “The Hammerson Local Community Bursary is a great opportunity for the county's charities to be awarded a significant amount of money, which could make a real difference to their work. Having worked with both Yorkshire Cancer Research and The Haven over recent years, we felt the awards would be a proper continuation of our support for the invaluable work they do in our region.”
Alison Troop, Trusts and Communities Fundraiser for The Haven added, “We were delighted to receive the £2,500 donation from the Hammerson Charity Committee. This money will fully fund more than two Visitors through the whole Haven programme, ensuring they receive the full benefits of our care and support.
“Victoria Quarter’s continued involvement with The Haven means so much to us and the women and families who come to us, and will help us to continue to provide care and support for those in Yorkshire trying to cope with the impact of Breast Cancer.”
